Hi 4th grade!

I have created this blog just so we can begin to talk about good books that we have read.
I want to start with E.L. Konisburg’s From the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler. This is one of the books I read many years ago but picked up again because it is full of adventure and excitement. Imagine if you were tempted to run away from home, and chose the best place for hiding…. in a museum after closing. You find a sculpture that you suspect is very valuable but all the keys to unlocking the mystery are a complete mess. There are many clues mixed up and time is running out.  You must uncover the secret behind the statue and it’s previous owner. One by one you sort and sort and you find that Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler is ……? I don’t want to give the whole story away but if you want a page turning mystery try this book. ~McAuley

I just got finished reading a book called Among The Barons by Margaret Peterson Haddix. I chose this book because I liked the way Mrs.Mcauley did the book talk for Among the Hidden. Two other people got that book so that is why I got this one. Imagine if you had to go into hiding because you were an illegal third child. You had to get a fake I.D. and go to a special school away from your parents. Your fake I.D. is the I.D. of a person that is dead and his brother is still alive. That particular brother has to come to your school because he wants to see you. Will he give away your true identity to every body he sees? You will have to read the book to find out.

I have been reding a book called The Word Eater.
A lonley girl named Lerner finds a magical worm.But instead of eating dirt the worm eats words.Lener lets him eat many words.He eat the word Spinach Souffle and something happened to it!The Spinach Souffle had…! Read the book to find out.:)

I just read a book called “Jonathon Livingston Seagull.” It is about a bird who is always trying to work on flying when he should be working on finding food with a group. Eventually, he is caught and named “Outcast.” Then you have to read the rest!:)

I just read this great book called Junie B Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus. Junie B. Jones is scared because this is her first day of schoole and she don’t like riding the bus. In Junie B. Hello! I am reading a book called The Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer. He also wrote the Artemis Fowl series. The book takes place in the future in a so-called orphanage where a boy finds out he will die if he stays. I just finshed reading a book called 101 Ways to Bug your Teacher – it’s a real good book if you want to bug your teacher and most of the story talks about a chicken. At the end it tells you some ways to bug your teacher like there was one where the teacher says take a seat and you say tack it where? And if you are in a teacher’s class that stars with B put shaving cream on the floor and it will bug your teacher.

I am reading a book called The Knight Who Was Afraid Of the Dark by Tony Ross. Once there was bold knight, Sir Fred, and a lovely maid, the fair Lady Wendyly. There was also a vilous of Sir Fred and longed to find a chink in the brave knight’s armor. This fabulous book is about a mouse who wants a little vacation, but every time someone sets a airplane for Geeronimo something always gets in the way. This book is mostly for second graders but if you want a challenge try this fab book.

Hey, I finished reading a book called Sideway Stories From Wayside School! Its awesome and funny! Their FIRST teacher turned them into apples, but that was resolved! A kid is glued to a chair and the students find out one of their friends is a dead rat! At the end of this book something exciting happens! Ha fooled you I wont tell you what happens you have to find out for yourself!

I’m reading a good book lots of people have told me about ,and it’s awsome.The book is titled The Charoit Queen Zara. The author of the book I enjoyed is Tony Abbott. This bigfoot.In the beggining it say’s there came a human wail and sudden rush of feet and beasts charging into the cave that’s one part of the beginning.Next I’m telling you the middle but I can’t spoil the ending. So there was this girl named Julie who would always cry and say when she got scared of things she would say maybe there are hundreds of them furry little big foot.

Hey, guys! I just finished reading a book called Among the Enemy by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It is another book in the shadow children series. Matthias and his friends Alia and Percy are being sent to become the Population Police’s army. But on the way to the camp, Matthias finds a way to escaping. But in doing so, Alia gets injured and then Percy gets shot in the leg. Finally, finds a house where he can stay intil his friends get better. Both of them get so sick he goes to find help. When him and his help arrive at the cabin, his friends aren’t there! That leads into a battle with the Popluation Police. But imagine this! He ends up saving the enemy’s life. When is taken back to HQ and uncovers a scandel, oops! I told too much already! Well, if you what to know what happens next, read Among the Enemy!

This book has 15 reviews and 14 honors and awards! That should tell you that this book must be pretty stinking awesome! I am not going to tell you about it because you will enjoy reading it to find out what it’s about more than hearing about it.
